Our FacilitiesPenrose HospitalPenrose Hospital, located at 2222 N. Nevada Avenue, is the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. With 300 beds, Penrose Hospital provides secondary and tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890 as a tuberculosis sanatorium, Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center, specializing in cancer care, cardiac care, emergency trauma care and rehabilitation.
St Francis Medical CenterLocated at 6001 E. Woodmen Rd., St. Francis Medical Center is the newest facility in the Penrose-St. Francis family. The $207 million, 168-bed facility is the only full-service hospital in Northern Colorado Springs and features a modern birth center and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric unit, 24-hour Emergency Department, Level IV Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Surgical Services, and a Critical Care Unit. It also serves as home base for the Flight For Life Colorado air ambulance helicopter service. St. Francis Health CenterSt. Francis Health Center, located at 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, was established in 1887 and was the first hospital in Colorado Springs. Today, the primary emphasis of St. Francis Health Center is on outpatient surgery, behavioral health services, providing inpatient and outpatient treatment to those suffering from psychiatric and/or chemical dependency problems; and outpatient rehabilitation. This facility also houses the Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care central residence and administration offices, offices for Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs, and the Penrose-St. Francis Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
